HARDINGE MILLING MACHINE VISE for CLAUSING 8520 MILL
Meet Art Hardinge, tough guy, a square-jawed, roll-your-own kind of guy. This Hardinge vise is tight and holds work solidly. As you can see, it is well used. The 85 year old man I bought it from about 10 years ago said it had been in use in the Hardinge factory. I am selling it because I have a 2nd Hardinge vise like it and see no need for a back up. This one has already seen more use in its lifetime than I will ever put on one and it is still going strong. Because the vise looks like a stylized face, I added a foam nose and a hand-rolled cigarette for the fun of it. No store bought cigarette for the likes of Art Hardinge. The 4.125" wide jaws open to 2 13/16" and are 1" high. It will close down upon a .125" thickness; for thinner work use a spacer. The overall height of this rotating vise is 3.125" making it perfect for those of you who do not have the riser block on your Clausing Mill. Note the design of the keys, which are for the 9/16" wide T-slots of the Clausing Mill. Should you need different width keys, this design is easy to manufacture.
