The growth of ADSL services within the telecommunications industry has created a need for test equipment that can handle trouble tickets on both POTS and ADSL lines. The TS1200 ADSL/POTS Test Set from Fluke Networks does just that. It offers the very best in DataSafe™ POTS testing, combined with the ability to test and troubleshoot ADSL lines – all in a truly rugged case. The TS1200 Test Set allows technicians to test ADSL while talking on the POTS frequencies of a line. It also allows off-hook testing of POTS lines without disrupting data services. As the result, trouble tickets are cleared rather than created.
The backlit LCD screen displays 8 lines of text and can plot a bits-per-bin graph of test results. You can save up to five results to download and print from a PC. Use the “auto test” function to take a snapshot of the ADSL line, or you can use the “manual” test function to monitor line conditions for up to 90 minutes. On-screen icons show volume level, battery and charging levels, polarity, and Speaker or Mute button activity. An Alarm Display shows loss of signal, frame, power, or margin at the near or far end of the line. With high-voltage protection, DropSafe™ ruggedness, RainSafe™ usability, and all the standard features of Fluke Networks butt-in test sets – like PBX Pause, Speed Dial, Last Number Redial, and Tone and Pulse dialing – the TS1200 test set is the essential piece of testing equipment for the telephone tech in the world of ADSL. The TS1200 also can be outfitted with a load coil detector which is perfect for central office installation and verification.
