Here we have a Nice VERY sharp NEW Threading tap. US Made by Hanson Whitney. Size 1/2"-13 GH3. +.005" It is a 3 flute taper tap with a straight shank. The shank size .306" with a flat spot, so you can chuck it right up in your hand held electric drill or in your drill press chuck or mill collet. I have had several of these straight shank taps and I use this same photo for all of them, it looks basically identical to the one in the photo.
