LOW-POWER 555 CMOS NOS SMT ICs
New, old stock (NOS ICs), CMOS. The 7555 CMOS multivibrator/timer is equivalent to other CMOS 555 types, including the LMC555 and the LM7555. Astable multivibrators often serve as the heartbeat of a circuit, it almost always pays when it is as precise and as versatile as possible.
The versatile 8-pin 555-series multivibrator ICs (LM 555 / NE 555) are probably the most popular ICs ever made. Unfortunately, not enough designers know the true power of the 8-pin 7555 CMOS deluxo version of the 555! The sizzling steak you get when you use the 7555 over the ground-round of the 555:
(2) Much higher bandwidth. The 555 is limited to about 300 KHz. With the CMOS 7555, you get BW of 500 KHz (2 MHz with the CD4047).
(3) The output timing and pulse widths are substantially more precise using the 7555 over the 555, especially if the power supply is anemic.
(4) Because the input impedance of the 7555 is very high, you also seldom need a decoupling capacitor at the Control Voltage terminal (Pin 5), thus saving you yet another capacitor.
The 7555/555 applications are legendary and virtually unlimited, and include: (1) Frequency multiplication, (2) Frequency division, (3) Envelope detection (e.g. amplitude modulation - AM demodulation), (4) Frequency discrimination, (5) Timing circuits / Time delay circuits. I use these standard ICs by the ton, but I purchased so many that I am selling some now.
