This is black on white mulch used with the white side up for a cooler bed, for fall crops, or heat sensitive plants. The black blocks/prevents sunlight from germinating weeds underneath the mulch unlike a fully white plastic mulch. Embossed mulch will hug the soil better than smooth mulch film preventing the flapping problem while also increasing strength of the plastic.
