U.S. Motors’ Screw Conveyor Drives utilize high quality cast iron housings for durability and protection. The input shaft is made of nickel chromium molybdenum steel, and the gears are precision finished and case hardened.
All drive models are designed to meet CEMA standards. The Screw Conveyor Drive is also equipped with cylindrical roller bearings on the input shaft providing higher overhung load capacities while oversized tapered roller bearings provide for high thrust load capacity.
U.S. Motors’ SCD line is available in a range of seven AGMA sizes: 107 through 315. Capabilities include output torque up to 55,000 in. lbs. and a thrust load capacity up to 11,240 lbs. The drives are available in nominal ratios 5:1, 15:1 and 25:1.
Screw Conveyor Drives provide maximum flexibility due to the wide range of CEMA design shaft diameters offered by U.S. Motors. Installation is simplified by the slotted output flange adapter which adapts to a wide range of CEMA through ends.
Taconite seals are optional on input and output shafts on the non-drive end side.
Shaft (SAE 1048 steel) is removable. Shafts are available in several diameters for each reducer size. Identical shafts are used in most reducers, reducing shaft inventory.
Case carbonized helical gears are hardened to 60/64 Rockwell C, crown shaved and ground.
A steel ring seal plate protects the seal for drives used in dusty environments.
A backstop is available from the factory on all drive sizes.
A waste packable cavity is provided for dusty or abrasive applications.
Slotted holes in the flange adapter allow mounting of the gearbox on all standard trough ends without having to rotate the gearbox.
Oversized taper roller bearings on slow speed shafts eliminate the need of the trough end bearing. The drive bolts directly to the rough end and supports the screw conveyor shaft.
