RS232 to 3~5 Volt TTL Signal Converter Kit
This Converter is designed to be used by plug into a breadboard directly or by wires connect to your target board. The RS232 Converter provides RX/TX pins and two control pins for either DSR/DTR or CTS/RTS handshake signals. The handshaking options (Jumper configurable) can be configured as a null modem with no handshaking, or with DSR/DTR handshaking or with CTS/RTS handshaking. It has a standard DB9 female RS232 connector and can be connected to a standard PC COM port or any other terminal with a straight through extension cable. The 6-pin header can connect with any breadboard that requires serial I/O wiht the breadboard providing an operating voltage between 3.3 to 5 volts.
This module can works with Microchip PICs, Basic Stamps, Atoms, and any other microchip/microcontroller or anywhere you need TTL communication via RS232. It can be used as a bootloader interface, with a support of a bootloader chip and the in-circuit program, such as PIC using the C6, C7 hardware serial port. It also can be used for bootloading with handshaking signal.
* Set your Real Time project via RS-232
* Reads values and communicates with the PC
* Turn your PC into a thermometer or voltmeter using Visual Basic or other software
* Control a motor, switch, sensors or what ever with your PC
* Microcontroller bootloader interface
Request To Send (RTS) or Data Set Ready (DSR)
Clear To Send (CTS) or Data Terminal Ready (DTR)
* Null modem (no handshake) 1-2 and 5-6
* CTS/RTS handshake 3-5 and 4-6
* DTR/DSR handshake 1-3 and 2-4
