LUBRICATION ENGINEERS 452 ALMASOL CHAIN AND CABLE LUBRICANT
Tacky NLGI 00 Semi-Fluid Grease, Chain & Cable Lube. 452 ALMASOL Chain and Cable Lubricant is a tacky, water resistant, semi-fluid lubricant that penetrate all moving chain and cable parts ensuring smooth, quiet operation and long chain and cable life. It is specially soft with excellent adhesive and water resistance characteristics. It stays in at wear points of chain links, pins, bushings, sheave bushings and bearings and protects against cable strand wear and corrosion. It contains ALMASOL, an inorganic platelet material with high compressive strength which has an affinity for metal and is chemically inert. ALMASOL protects against premature wear and shields metal against corrosive attack.
452 reduces wear in chains and sprockets, and cables and sheaves because the oil penetrates to all equipment parts. It results in smoother, quieter operation because metal joints and strands are allowed to move more freely (all surfaces are lubricated). Shocks are dampened by full-bodied, semi-fluid lubricants. They retard corrosive attacks since they are tacky, water resistant lubricants which seal out damaging moisture. ALMASOL shields against acid attack. The result is less lubricant used because they will not sling off. Water resistant characteristics allow lubricants to stay in place in presence of steam and moisture for long service intervals.
452 can be used for all chain links, pins, bushings, cable sheave bearings needing a good, water resistant adhesive grease, open and closed silent and roller chains, and small slow turbine gearboxes that require a semi-fluid gear lube. It can be used effectively in low operating temperature gear cases where a soft or semi-fluid grease is required. Typical operating temperature range is -20 °F to 170 °F (-29 °C to 77 °C). It is not for high temperature use where gear oil is specified.
