This offer is for one NEW (ZERO operating hours) Sylvania VG1A Ionisation Gauge Tube.
It is branded "Distillation Industries" type VG – 1A, and -as letterings say- was made in the USA by Sylvania.
I understand these were also made for "Vacuum Industries", among other brands.
Forgive me please, I don’t know how these kinds of tubes work and do not have specs at this time.
The glass envelope looks like a bottle with one end open to allow gas to enter. This opening is currently silicone sealed from factory to avoid dust entering. The other end has 4 wires running to a six pin male connector (original female connector comes in this set). Two wires correspond to Heater/cathode; other two run to each end of what seems to be a helical Control Grid. Plate/anode is formed by a chrome coating in the inner sidewall of the bulb, which go outward via a hair conductor (in-glass sealed) and is connected to an external bulb-clamp.
The bulb is 7 inches long (approx 18cm) and dia is 1-5/16 (3.3cm)
It also comes with a set of superb original metal/bakelite connectors (they look like British, but not sure). Female connector is missing one bolt.
This VG-1A is NEW, UNUSED, and come with non-commercial original white box.
I have no way to formally test this tube. However, it is guaranteed for normal working condition or your money will be back. I have only tested Heater and Grid conductivity and they measured 0.3 and 0.4 ohms respectively in cool state.
The original box is quite large, measuring 4x4x10 inches (approximately 10x10x25.5 cm) HxWxD.
