The Problem With Other White Noise Machines, Sound Conditioners, and White Noise CDs
High quality white noise is supposed to consist of rapid "true-random" impulses. It is the very nature of this "randomness" that produces that distinct white noise sound - just like the random spattering of rain drops. If rain droplets fell in an orderly fashion, it would sound more like clapping than rainfall.
White noise that does NOT consist of true-random impulses is called pseudo-random noise. It sounds "white" because the individual impulses only seem to pop forth randomly. What is really going on is that this seemingly random train of impulses is just a pre-determined sequence of bits that eventually repeats. It is just a simulation of true-random noise created by mathematical algorithms - a product of digital technology. It is not possible to generate true-random white noise by digital means, e.g., computer software or digital electronic circuitry.
Pseudo-random noise might sound O.K. at first, but the astute person listening to pseudo-random pink or white noise would be able to detect the subtle variations & characteristics that repeat after a certain period of time. Listening to pseudo-random noise would be like listening to a recording of a river or waterfall on loop mode, which can be irritating to the mind.
Only analog technology can provide true-random white noise. The problem is that almost all other white noise generators or electronic sound conditioners found on the market are pseudo-random digital devices. Why? Because digital noise generators are much easier to manufacture.
We are one of the few manufacturers of analog noise generators. The noise produced by our noise generators consist of true random impulses based on the chaotic motion of electrons and "holes" at the quantum level.
What about those popular white noise CDs? All noise CDs, whether they were recorded from analog, digital, or natural sources (rain shower or waterfall), consist of a string bits that has been already determined (no randomness whatsoever) from the very act of recording, and therefore considered pseudo-random noise. You would hear the same sound every time you play the CD.
Sound conditioners and CDs have other problems as well. Most sound conditioners have only a tiny speaker to produce a sound blanket, limiting both the sound quality and the volume (we all know what a small transistor radio sounds like). They do not even have tone controls to let you adjust the bass or treble to suite your needs.
Since most people already have a great sound system that has a set of tone controls and large speakers, our noise generators were designed to be connected to those very sound systems. That way, you can have full encompassing sound piped through dual speakers, and you can easily adjust the tone and the volume as needed.
CDs are fragile and can easily get scratched or ruined. Even if a noise CD was well cared for, the longevity & usefulness would still be questionable if the CD was produced simply by burning the noise signal on a writable CD instead of using the more reliable "stamped aluminum" process so widly used by the music industry.
We build our noise generators to last for many years. We spend a little extra for top quality components even though this raises manufacturing costs. Similar products are big and bulky and sell for several hundred dollars!
The neat little gadget (RNG-100) featured here is an analog pink/white noise generator which delivers a clean noise signal consisting of true random impulses unlike the more common pseudo-random digital noise generators which create an algorithmic sequence of bits that eventually repeats.
Please Note: The noise signals produced by this device must be patched to an audio amplification system such as a home stereo system (RCA cables included) or a set of amplified speakers (such as a pair of computer speakers), to produce a pink or white noise sound. To connect to computer speakers, simply insert the phone plug running from your computer speakers (which would normally plug into your computer) into the RNG-100.
Frequency range covers the entire spectrum of human hearing (from 20Hz to 20,000Hz).
Extremely accurate noise signals are nice and straight across the octaves as depicted by a spectrum analyzer (see pics below). This well-designed product is more accurate than many higher priced "professional" noise generators.
Rocker switch selects between pink or white noise.
The output jack occomodates a standard 1/8” stereo plug to deliver the signal to both the left and right channels of a stereo system.
Low power consumption allows continuous use for up to 5 days from one battery.
Unit comes with an AC adapter and RCA cables (for hook-up to external audio equipment) as shown in picture gallery. Owner’s manual is also included.

What Can Audio White Noise Be Used For?
White noise can be highly effective at creating a sound curtain to help prevent eavesdropping on private conversations, masking noise in busy offices, providing a true random noise source for computer applications such as cryptography, and even for paranormal research.
What Can Audio Pink Noise Be Used For?
Although white noise is important for some applications, most people agree that pink noise is more soothing to listen to. The soothing sound of pink noise can help promote a state of relaxation & sleep for both babies and those suffering from insomnia. Pink noise can also provide relief for those suffering from tinnitus. I have found that it is highly effective at masking distracting noises (like your neighbor's barking dog), which can help improve focus and concentration. Some people even use pink noise as an aid for meditation practices. Other uses include testing and calibrating sound systems.
This product normally sells for $150.00 on our website. Quantity is limited.
