These PDF manuals cover operation, maintenance, servicing, calibration, performance check and etceteras of the Tektronix 455 Oscilloscope. They are scanned from the original manufacturer's manual. All information available in the original manual is available here, including full coverage (schematics, parts lists, too!) of options 4, 5, 7, and 78 and also the P6105 Probe often used with this 'scope.
Two PDFs of the manual are provided, in two resolutions. One is:
Text with Drawings at 400dpi (minimum) black and white or grayscale (content-dependent)
Schematics at 600dpi black and white or grayscale (content-dependent)
Text with photos at 400dpi (minimum) grayscale with contrast adjusted
Schematics, overlays with color coding (if any) at 400dpi (minimum) 256 colors (minimum)
The other PDF is done in resolutions that vary depending on individual page content, but are never higher than needed to produce a useable quality, quickly navigable file that will do the job without consuming more time and resources than are needed.
Also, we include a "foldouts.pdf" with the A3 (11x17") foldout pages from the manual scanned full-size (one piece)other than four of the pages in "foldouts.pdf" which were two 24"x11" pages in the original manual and are presented in two each 17"x11" ((L) and (R)) pages in "foldouts.pdf". This is intentional, to avoid the displayed page resizing seen in documents that mix page sizes. Please note that all foldout pages are ALSO included as A4 scans (sectioned as 8.5 x 11" pages, in other words) in the main manual for easier printing with most standard printers.
We send you both both resolutions on the CD. You'll receive the large file, plus the smaller, faster text-searchable version, plus the A3 "foldouts" file. That way, you can navigate, search and etceteras with the fast file and only use the large files when you want to print. There's no need to clutter up your drives with files that are hundreds of megabytes in size, nor any need to spend time writing them to and from the hard drive if you aren't the sort who likes to waste space. Yet the extra-large PDF is still provided for when you need exceptional print quality. All original manual pages are supplied in both resolutions, with no pages added or subtracted.
The "main" or "very high resolution" manual has both the chapter-page numbering system ("electronic manual page numbers match paper manual page numbers") and the sequential (logical) page numbering system. The very high resolution version is fully bookmarked and extensively hyperlinked, and of course the smaller, faster version is text-searchable as well as being fully bookmarked, extensively hyperlinked and having the versatility of both page-numbering systems. Even "foldouts.pdf" is bookmarked!
